SHAKEDOWN STOCKHOLM – ‘Nothing Like Abel’

At the core of this tune is a fine marrying of core essence capably matching up with the integrity of the tune in a formidable way. In the spacious trappings of the latent faux shoegaze the tentative qualities of the tune linger. It is the neat tethering of the rhythm that adds to the patient spacing in such a select way. Another fine thing to note about the visual is the rich colour scheme. This imbues it with a telling mid 1990’s indie texture and you draw a comparison with the videos of bands such as Garbage that were de rigour of the time. Yet it is just an added observation that underlines how that style seems to complement the visual of this video and suits the song so well. That lo-fi sensibility is what enhances the credibility of the end product on show.
