SISTER SPARROW AND THE DIRTY BIRDS – ‘Sugar

Immediately the finer qualities of the song stand out and the way it is all tracked captures that upbeat prominence in a precise way. The favourable way it is shot shifts the focus on to the band as much as it does the tune itself. What is also clever how the location is used to fine effect. It is apparent that the setting suits the Carnivalé fanfare that comes through in the beat here, but when you see the comfortable way that the visual aesthetic is married to the end product it shows just how clever all of the dynamics on show are. What is also narrowed down in the narrative brings something highly productive through which holds in a fashionable way that is steady and conclusive in equal measure.
