This is an interesting video and the setting is something that instantly draws you in. The heavier apparel in the sound is lush but it is held in a commendable way. The way that the more matured aspects on show in the sound linger fittingly add a sense of heightened touch to proceedings. There is also something in the fonder touches that have a more deft calling – like the way certain songs on Pulp’s ‘A Different Class’ and ‘This Is Hardcore’ albums had a heavier pull but added a glorious tint that suggested a darker undertone behind the dynamics. Here that is present, although not as prominently. That layered approach builds the sound but how the video plays out alongside the tracking brings a more suitable comparison with Talking Heads to the fore. On its own merits this sees them continue with the rich vein of form that they have come to be known for in their own right over the last 3-4 years.
