OTHERKIN – ‘Ay Ay’

Here is a video that immediately gets down to business. The marker thrown down is one that clearly takes everything serious. That is underlined by the rich way that the compact urgency hits you. The thunderous compliance of the playing brings it full circle and the placement on show draws comparisons to The Hives and The White Stripes in their very early heyday. Such is the rich careening flow of the guitar work and it turns on the style in an explicit way. The black and white visual adds an apparel to the aesthetic that is highly engaging. It is not just the craft on show from Finn Keenan here that grabs you but the splendour of it all on a collective level. The artistic style is engaged in a noted way here and provides a perfect marriage between track and video. To sum it up fairly – it is a class tune with a class video to boot.
