STILLROOM – ‘Keep On Walking’

Immediately there is something about this video that grabs your attention. There is no mistaking what this about in the video. With the class revolt represented by the metaphorical representation in the video. In the opening throes this is apparent and the track is not overtly political. Just a sign of the times. The black and white adds to the aesthetic in a heightened way which projects the intent deftly. But it is also a defiant effort with the lyrics conveying what is happening in Ireland in the moment in relation to the water charges – that is that the people are winning. So the impact of the chorus does get that across because it is the unified belief that the people now have which has resulted in the coming together of everyone in such a unified manner. That has transcended all class divides and brought everyone together as one symbol of strength. A defiant sense of triumphant indeed.
