DAVID KEENAN – ‘The Friary’

With this video everything is shot to capture the nostalgia. That is carefully constructed in the lyrical content here and it rises steadfastly in a way that finds a true sense of vocation. The delicate manner of the song carefully glides through, while the old 8mm footage also carries the heart of things definitively. How this is pieced together is earnest and as such the impact is more personal. There is a characteristic sense of the real about it that allows you to draw some appropriate Van Morrison comparisons. As a tune in its own right it carries something about it that identifies equally as well when considered as something in its own right.
