This has a lot going for it. That it is shot in black and white adds a settled sense of refinement alongside the deliberate roll of the tempo. In terms of what the track sets out to achieve there are high hints of Irish folk with a modern cut to them running through in a course way. The upbeat feel of the tempo is cleverly aligned to match the intent which gives the vaudeville trappings something to develop from. The later progression in the track also carries a sweet sensibility that incorporates a lighter feel that brings hints of ska/reggae to the mix but doesn’t dwell on them. The brevity in the performance is endeared further by how well suited the styling of the video is to the track here.
